    A common theme when discussing leadership theories is that intelligence and experience play a vital role in determining a successful leader. Dubrin's text identifies six common cognitive factors and closely relates them to intelligent leadership. The desired outcome of this exercise is a thorough assessment of each of the factors and their role in Margo's cognitive development. The first attribute concerns the mental capacity of an individual. As defined in the book, cognitive intelligence is a person's "general mental ability." This differs from emotional intelligence in that it focuses on the ability to make logical and reasonable decisions through problem solving and analysis. Reflecting on this factor in relation to her own abilities, Margo feels that this is an area in which she does extremely well. She considers herself a fairly intelligent person who, when presented with a new mission or idea, grasps the context very quickly. She excels in both practical situations and teaching requirements, and feels well placed to handle most issues effectively and efficiently. An important capability of any great leader is expertise in their area of ​​practice. This can be achieved by “studying new technology research, analyzing competitors’ products, and talking with customers and engineers.” (Dubrin, 2007) The author is convinced that she masters this area very well.
