  • Essay / An urgent problem in our society: violence against women

The concept of violence could only represent a negative image. It refers to a set of radical human behaviors, for example, the perpetrator would use physical force to intentionally harm or kill people. Furthermore, the typology of violence within the World Health Organization (WHO) has an explicit structure, which includes physical, psychological and sexual violence against families, partners, friends or strangers (). However, in this essay, I will focus on critically analyzing Farkhanda Younis' story, which could reflect how violence against women is a pressing problem in our society. On April 19, 2013, a six-year-old boy called 999 said he could not check into his mother's room because it was locked. After the police arrived, they found the body of a young mother. Farkhanda Younis, who was found dead and whose body had been stabbed at least 19 times. Ms. Younis' families told police that Ms. Younis had suffered from domestic violence and wanted to end the relationship. Furthermore, she had refused to help Jahangir Nazar obtain a permanent visa in England, who is Ms Younis's husband. Combining both the crime scene investigation and testimonies from families and neighbors that police confirmed Jahangir Nazar was the murder. Three days later, Nazar was arrested on his way to a train station in Newcastle. During this time, police discovered that he was carrying a large sum of cash. Nazar had already admitted to manslaughter in an attempt to minimize his responsibility. However, his plea was rejected and he is on trial for murder. He would therefore remain at least 22 years in prison. Although Ms. Younis' case is a fairly extreme case, it still plays an important role in getting people to pay attention to the study of violence against women. Based on her story that Ms. Youni...... middle of paper ......e human rights that could protect them from violence. Second, encourage them to join anti-violence against women groups or communities, which let these women know that they would not feel alone in fighting against violence. In conclusion, this critical essay draws on the story of Farkhanda Younis to analyze the results that would result. by domestic violence and why women are a major target of domestic violence. In addition, this essay also presents communication and education methods aimed at men, women and adolescents in order to prevent and reduce violence against women. As we know, preventing and reducing violence against women is long-term combat work and we must still try to emphasize the interaction between local communities and families to contribute to this agenda. In the meantime, we must keep a positive attitude towards any problem, including violence..
