Day after day, the cost of living continues to rise, inflation seems to be getting out of control, and at the same time, salaries simply don't match. Their parents, teachers or mentors taught individuals that one should be educated, have a good work ethic and save for retirement and that by doing this they should do well in life. Unfortunately, these people find that times have changed and things are no longer quite the same as we once thought. Not only is our economy struggling, but businesses are closing down, leading to increased unemployment, meaning the job market coupled with wage growth makes it very difficult for people to have confidence in their future. Everyone has seen other people struggle, homes foreclosed on, entire savings accounts and/or 401Ks depleted, which makes many people think something needs to change. Nowadays, most people are reluctant to invest in the economy due to recent market turmoil, but with the right understanding, newcomers can develop an excellent portfolio by understanding how to invest. Times have changed from what they once were, the government isn't helping as much and employers are contributing less and less to their employees' futures. That said, it takes goals, motivation and will to learn something new outside of your comfort zone in order to build your own future, your own retirement, your own life. By fully understanding what investing is by starting with the basics and learning about something that has helped others become millionaires, any person can build their own worth and lead a comfortable life.
