  • Essay / Trip To Blackpool - 860

An experience I will always remember was when I went to Blackpool with my football team. It was early April 2009, my football team had signed up for a tournament in Blackpool and we couldn't wait to go. When the day of departure came, I was awakened at the first light of dawn. I couldn't wait to get to Blackpool as quickly as possible, not only for the football that awaited us but also for the famous Pleasure Beach. The bus came to pick us up around 8 a.m. and we piled into an already full bus. The ride down was full of laughter and friendly jokes from the parents. That day, it was particularly hot and inside the bus several people were starting to feel uncomfortable. I wasn't affected by the heat inside the coach, with my headphones on I relaxed and paid more attention to the vast landscape we were passing through. The vibrant landscape blew me away, with colossal hills and calm rivers that we encountered during the journey. Arriving in sunny Blackpool at 11am, we had the whole day to ourselves. First, we had to check in at the hotel we were going to stay at. At first glance it seemed disorganized with parents being sent to the wrong rooms and the long wait to be served by the only receptionist. Once we have our key, go up the three flights of steep stairs again. Finally we got to our room, again it was disappointing with holes in the curtains and dust like a sheet on the small table. However, I forgot about it as we were leaving for Pleasure Beach. The ten minute walk from the hotel seemed quick, although the sight of the elusive Pepsi Max made me reconsider rushing. Once we arrived at the gates, we waited in line for ten minutes before entering the park. We all hurriedly headed to the main attraction of the pa...... middle of paper ......e bus and off we went. As soon as we arrived we were told that kick off would be in ten minutes. After a quick warm-up, we were ready. My hands were shaking, my heart was pounding but I couldn't wait to get started. When the match started, my nerves went out of my head and I was focused on the match. The match was one-sided, we scored at the start of the match, then again in the second half. The final score was 2-0. I was delighted, I couldn't believe we won the tournament. During the trophy presentation, all I heard was the screams and screams of the parents. I was so proud to be part of the team. The trip home was filled with singing and celebrations of the tournament victory. Even though we arrived home early in the afternoon, I was exhausted. The rest of the day was spent telling everyone about the days gone by. Then life returned to normal.
