    In the reading “The Theory Behind the Dictionary: Cultural Literacy and Education,” they had excellent reasoning for their ideas. I liked the author's comprehensive explanation of how someone can know how to read, but until they fully understand the entirety of what they are reading, they get nothing out of reading. The reader and author do not “communicate.” They also explain why reading ability is measured in how. well, a person can understand various types of writing on many topics. I think it couldn't be more correct. How is someone supposed to learn if they only know a lot of, say, a few topics? to learn so much unless you know “a lot” of many topics. Hirsch covered many direct aspects such as logo, ethos and even a bit of pathos, but no vision, no interpretation, no invitation to the world of learning instead of reading short summarizing clips. great works of literature, shouldn't students try to read the works themselves?
