The second definition found in Merriam-Webster is “the belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities,” which corresponds to “the theory of politics, economics, and social equality of the sexes” (“Feminism | Merriam-Webster Definition of Feminism”). The second definitions should be what they actually mean, but for the most part, feminism only focuses on women and completely ignores men in the equation. Emma Watson delivered a HeForShe speech on September 20, 2014 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. With the tagline “Gender equality is your problem too” it would grab us all for a second until you realize that there is no problem that feminism has solved for men; you might see a few here and there, but cases involving men get almost no media attention. True feminism is equality where the other sex is not ignored
