The hijab in the Koran: the beginningThe woman must struggle to survive in this world. Women face a variety of challenges every day, ranging from culture to economics. It is even more difficult for a Muslim woman to live when she wears hijaabi. Wearing hijab is a very popular thing among Muslim women, as is wearing turban for Shikh men. The hijab may look like a simple head covering, worn by Muslim women for many years, but it is very significant for a Muslim woman. The word hijab comes from the Arabic word “hajaba” meaning to hide, conceal the body, the beauty from the gaze of strangers and act as a barrier, like a curtain. The wearing of hijab began many years ago with scholars arguing: Does it refer to the outer surface of a woman's clothing, which covers every part of her body? Or does it give an exception to the face and hands, as well as feminine ornaments such as rings, bracelets and makeup?
