Interactive Process The Fitzgerald family interacts very well with each other throughout the movie, even though daughter Kate was suffering from leukemia, you could tell they love each other. They mostly talked face to face and tried to understand each other, as they were still trying to cope with Kate's illness. When everyone found out that Anna had hired a lawyer and refused to give her sister a kidney, they all sat at the table and tried to find out why Anna didn't want to do it. Anna basically told them that she just wanted to live a normal life and she didn't want to live it because it would hurt and it might not work. As Kate had been ill since she was little, most of the family's attention was focused on her. Even though Kate was primarily hospitalized throughout her life, she interacted with her family when discharged. She talks with her mother Sara and Anna, most telling about how she fell and joking. The two sisters Anna and Kate had an excellent relationship. They called each other "sissy" throughout the movie and just talked about where she wanted to go, her dreams and wishes. Little sister Anna finally takes her sister away from her mother, while Anna's relationship with her mother Sara crumbles. Sara just wanted to know why Anna didn't want to help her sister by donating one of her kidneys. They would mostly argue. Sara Fitzgerald also interacts with the rest of the family in the same way afterwards, merging and tense about the decisions the family was making while Kate was in the hospital. Additionally, Sara was trying to do what she thought was best for Kate's health, while Anna was doing what Kate wanted, although she also didn't know what to let her sister go. Father Brian Frizgrald talked with his children and tried to see every point...... middle of paper ...... helps his sister, and never asked, but that wasn't the case. Even though Anna was simply doing what her sister told her to do, she developed a way to speak for herself and control her own body. It wasn't because she didn't want to help her sister, but it was also because she started to believe that she couldn't help her sister all the time, because of that she was in dying. Brother Jesse also went through the same developmental process while Kate was alive, as most of his parents' attention was on Kate. He also cared a lot about his sister, but he had some issues with going out late at night and all that. Once Kate died, he stopped missing school and went to college. The whole family has been through this roller coaster ride, learning to live with and let go of the things you have no control over. They all develop a good relationship and understanding of each other in the end..
