  • Essay / Electrical Engineering and Music - 806

Electrical engineering is a field that primarily involves the use of technology in the design, development and testing of electrical devices. Electrical engineering majors focus on the physics of electricity and magnetism, engineering analysis and design tools, and the mathematics of circuits and systems. If you take an engineering course, you learn how to design and manufacture products that are safe and can improve human life. This course is not popular with many as it is very demanding and involving; this is why many beginners feel they are unprepared. As a result, many people who join the course find it difficult and many end up dropping out (Dan, 55). In order to solve these problems, the idea of using concepts from popular disciplines like music in engineering was adopted. Music is an artistic discipline commonly appreciated and appreciated by a large population, unlike other disciplines. Many prefer to take courses in areas they are comfortable in and enjoy working with. Music and musical concepts are familiar areas of study unlike disciplines like engineering, physics or mechanics. The music is enjoyable and almost everyone has experienced the music in their own way. it is a broad field of study, linked to many other disciplines in different ways. Like other fields of study, music and engineering are related in that many musical instruments require engineering knowledge in their design. Music is primarily about the transmission of sound and for this to happen, engineering knowledge is required (Smith103). Because of these relationships and the popularity of music, it has been incorporated into other disciplines to increase their popularity. For example, the incorporation of musical concepts into unfamiliar disciplines made ... middle of paper ...... the students' program was mind-blowing. This was measured by increased enrollment in the program. Likewise, student assessment scores have consistently increased, demonstrating the success of integration in this course. This practice calls for the merging of the musical and engineering population. This led students from different disciplines to understand and appreciate each other. The continued support of electronic engineering through music has been a success. Works Cited Beneat, Jean. Designing a guitar tab player in MATLAB., based on IEEE Real World, 2011.
