As mentioned above, social objects or artifacts are usually collected in museums. However, individuals also collect different objects that give meaning to their individual and community lives. These items can be collected and stored in so-called collectibles. The objects collected seem to be seen as a way to bring order to an orderless world in order to make sense of the past, present and future, which is why museums collect historical objects. For example, dolls as objects teach non-Native Americans about Indian culture. Unlike the museum, I have collected objects that have important meaning to me and my community in a Wonder Box shown below.
