In this sense, I believe that the ad with the woman uses pathos a lot more and makes it the superior ad, even if the other ad is also great in its own right. But using pathos in a sensitive topic like drunk driving, where many people and their families are affected by it every day, makes for a much stronger ad. Overall, the use of pathos for a subject like this made the commercial with Jacqueline Saurdino so important.
