Over the generations, this music has changed so much that it not only attracts an audience, but it can also change the way of thinking of today's youth today. I like hip-hop music but only for the rhythm. I am often asked for the lyrics of a song or who the artist is singing. It's amazing that I know the rhythm or melody but can't figure out the lyrics or who the artist is. Gospel music has the power to bring together an audience of several generations, while having a common interest. Having attended a few Baptist conventions across the country, I have witnessed this first hand. Particularly once a year in June, a convention organized for young people from communities all over the country meets in one city and is preached by preachers from all over the country. Although it is designed for young people, thousands of adults and people from older generations also come to praise the Lord with songs, dances and performances.
