His political position was to allow the states to decide what to do, he took the state's position of wanting to expel Indians from the Georgia area as white Americans wanted to grow cotton. . Jackson moved the Indians hundreds of miles across the Mississippi River to avoid conflict between the Americans and the Indians. Jackson also claimed that Indians were savages, even when they lived in peace for years. Jackson was able to conquer territory vital to the Americans at the expense of Native American lives and their culture. Actions speak louder than words and although Jackson spoke as if he had pure intention, his actions spoke.
