This alludes to the idea that what one feels cannot be discovered, but only rediscovered, insinuating that this perspective has always been at the forefront of life, but never recognized. It is a transformation that one can only become aware of once one has experienced it, a transformation that changes the lens through which life is viewed and obscures all previous benefits. This is the process that leads a survivor to become a ghost and deserves to be seen that way. With this in mind, one can only just begin to understand the change taking place, because it is impossible to fully understand it without the same experiences. From this perspective, the mental state of survivors can more easily be understood without the misinterpretations that often accompany this transformation. Considering the survivor as a ghost underlines the fragility of life and highlights the impact of traumatic events on human beings.
