Is abortion a good or bad thing? I believe that abortion is neither completely right nor wrong. I think teenagers should be able to have an abortion without their parents' permission, but parents should be informed as it is a medical procedure. Teenagers should be able to abort because they only have children, they haven't even grown up, so how could they take care of a child? Not only will it be difficult to care for a child, but their choices will be limited when the baby is born. Teenage girls ages 16 to 19 were three and a half times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault, which brings me to my third reason why teen girls should be able to abort. Teenage girls should absolutely be able to have an abortion if they are raped. It is unfair to force a victim to have a child by their abuser. Teenagers are still children. So basically we have a bunch of kids having kids, which is insane. Teenagers aren't ready to become parents until they're grown up themselves. Adolescents are not capable of raising a stable family, they do not have a job, their children will not have a father and they are not yet responsible enough. Being a parent takes discipline, education and finances. Teenagers don't have any of that. Teenagers should not have all this forced upon them at such an early age. What type of teenager would give up their friends, their proms, their education, and their entire life just to change diapers, feed, and care for a baby? Teenagers already don't like getting up early in the morning for school, so why would they take care of a baby in the middle of the night? That's just it, they wouldn't do it. Most rape victims have serious physiological problems, and even more so if the victim is a teenager. Up to seventy-five percent of rape victims take antidepressant medications, which can be harmful to the unborn child. Problems in today's society include the possibility of teenage girls having abortions. Adolescents should be able to have an abortion because they are only children themselves, they will have very limited choices when the baby is born, and they could be victims of rape. I believe that teenagers should have the right to do what they want with their bodies even if they are minors. If they don't want to raise a child at that time, they shouldn't be forced to.
