Essay / Direct correlation between violence in the media and...
There is no way around it! Wherever we go, he will find us. We're stuck! We cannot run away or hide. Instead, we are addicted to it. In the era of globalization, media is a powerful force in the world. It affects anyone and everyone. Children's minds are like sponges that absorb information, making them easy targets for media manipulation. Media plays an important role in a child's education. Despite its many benefits, children can suffer negative consequences. Current studies have shown that there is a direct correlation between media violence and a child's aggressive behavior. The question then is how do children develop a worldview of violence through the media? Based on this question, I interviewed Irene Vlachos Weber, a proud mother of two and professor at Indiana University Bloomington, who did her Ph.D. in Psychology from Indiana University itself and received his Bachelor of Science (BS) from Colorado State University. His areas of interest include community and clinical psychology. Through this interview and course readings, it was revealed that when children see acts of aggression in the media, they tend to show a worldview of violence either by imitating it or using deadly forces to resolve conflicts, or by absorbing this violence into their own lives. minds, thereby becoming desensitized to reality. In learning, children imitate what they see, whether on television, in magazines or in the movies. Professor Weber said that sometimes children take the behavior they see in cartoons or movies and imitate them in real life to solve their problems. This may be related to Franz Kafka's story "The Kafka Project: A Report for an Academy" in which Red Pe...... middle of paper ......e enters by watching and imitating), but they gradually want to watch much wilder films and play even more bloodstained video games. The influence of media on children's psychological development is profound. Although most researchers are absolutely certain that children can engage in violent behavior from the media, they point out that parents have enormous power to reduce this influence. In today's world, parents should be aware of all kinds of media their children are exposed to. When it comes to children, parents should limit media use. Many studies have shown that there is a direct correlation between reducing media and reducing children's aggressive behaviors. Parents need to understand that remaining silent and doing nothing will only allow their children to go down the perilous path of aggression..
