Most importantly, therapists often work to help victims normalize their emotions and experiences, while helping them regain a sense of hope despite such despair. Although natural disasters are inevitable, it is pertinent that communities become more engaged, provide relief and disaster preparedness education, and understand how strong resilience and adaptive skills benefit individuals in the face of adversity. To reduce the negative effects of disasters in the future, it is important to understand how communities are affected, both physically and emotionally, and to identify appropriate services needed to
