Over the years, things improved in Los Angeles and became a very populated city. A city of over 3 million people in Los Angeles is doing pretty well and I think it will continue to thrive in the years to come. New York is a different story, New York has an even bigger story of ups and downs. This city is full of so much art, music and fashion; this is why the city is called the fashion capital of the world. Since New York is also a semi-small island, it is a combination of other islands, Manhattan being the largest. New York is known as the Big Apple because it is one of the largest cities in the world. Before New York became the city it is today, it was filled with gangs and other bad guys tearing the city apart with numerous gang fights. The Dutch first arrived in New York in 1624 and called it New Amsterdam and Manhattan Island. Later, the English took over, called it New York, and became one of the original 13 colonies.
