Essay / Travel for High School Students - 596
Travel for High School Students Have you ever noticed how “Time flies when you're having fun”? In fact, when friends and vacations are involved, it seems even more so. After all, that's what the high school graduation trip is for. Clinton High School has always been known for its graduation trips. While area high school students were taking trips to Washington, D.C. and Disney World, Clinton High School students were traveling to the Bahamas. The class of 1990 was no different. The bus ride to Florida, where we were to board the ship, was just the beginning. Everyone was excited to go on a cruise and eager to get to the Bahamas. Since we were all teenagers and no one in our class had ever been to the Bahamas, we obviously had chaperones. Everyone was laughing and having a good time. Apparently some students were having more fun than others, because before the bus even left South Carolina, the chaperones could smell the alcohol. After a while we stopped and had lunch. We were exhausted at this point. Soon after, everyone was asleep and continued to sleep the rest of the way to Florida. By the time everyone was awake, we were at Ft. Lauderdale. Here we boarded the cruise ship. Do you know the expression “So much to do, so little time”? That pretty much sums up the events that take place aboard the cruise ship. We boarded the ship like a flock of birds. Then everyone split up and went their separate ways. There was so much to do and see on this ship that I don't think it could all be done in a week, let alone three days. Keep in mind that we are teenagers and will be in international waters soon. You know what that means: no age limit. We...... middle of paper ......ch to catch some rays. Many girls going to the market would stop at a small store and have their hair braided. Before we knew it, it was time to board the ship and head back to Florida. This evening aboard the ship was even wilder than the day before. We saw the chaperones walking around and watching. Rumor spread that the guides had abandoned us. They were just going to let us run wild and do whatever we wanted to do. Needless to say, we did. We were docked in Florida and heading home before we knew it. Overall, our senior class trip was one of the best times of my life. It also seemed to be one of the shortest. More to the point, it was the best moment a Clinton High School graduating class has ever had. In simpler terms, we were the last graduating class from Clinton High School to take a cruise to the Bahamas..
