  • Essay / OBAMACARE - 1076

OBAMACARE AS A SOCIAL ISSUEMany people view Obamacare as a political issue which I view as a social issue. The fact that a person does not have a health problem has been a problem for a long time. Many presidents have tried to restore the health care system in the United States, but failed. When I look at Obamacare, I see the United States breaking down into social classes. We studied social stratification. Obamacare is a great example of this concept. I'm lucky Obamacare doesn't affect me. I have an insurance form while serving in the armed forces, but for many Americans, Obamacare is a slap in the face. In this article, I intend to show how this hurts Americans instead of helping them, and how other countries have implemented health care in their counties. I will also show how Washington is disconnected from the American public. I will also give some of my ideals on how to Fix Healthcare. First, I would like to show what a slap in the face Obamacare is to many Americans. I went to Az over spring break to visit my mom, she lives in a retirement community. I had this document in mind while I was there, so I started talking to some of his neighbors about health insurance. I wonder who better to ask about health care than the elder. Those who were not old enough to qualify for Medicaid had the most say. These are those who are retired but who are not yet sixty-five years old. They had worked hard all their lives to retire early. Most were angry because the health insurance they received through their jobs had been canceled. What made them look for insurance, some of them said that the insurance was costing them almost $700 per month due to health problems they had. I said wait, doesn't Obamacare say the insurance company can't deny you. They said it was true, but they can look... middle of paper ... state does it. states would take the money for sales taxes, make all doctors and hospitals free for everyone, monitor them and monitor the hospital to make sure states aren't paying too much for something. The downside is that we would have to pay 20% sales tax. People who paid for private insurance would receive 50% of what they paid in sales tax each year. The remaining 50% would be used to cover everyone else’s health care. In conclusion, I think Obamacare is unfair to the middle class and lower class. This is a huge bill written by politicians who are out of touch with the American public. This gives big insurance companies the means to do something the government should be doing. These other nations have done work for their audiences. Obamacare is making life harder for many Americans than it needs to be. Obamacare shows difference in American class structure.
