Essay / Full House Analysis - 965
We can see in the first episode of Full House that most of the jokes were just characters joking with family, some jokes even surrounded sexual references, but none of the jokes were was spoken. on politics or current affairs. For example, Stephanie tells her Uncle Jesse to play ballerina with him. This is funny in itself because the audience sees a grown man dancing. The real joke comes at the end of the dance when Stephanie tells her Uncle Jesse that he "needs to practice" and that they will "practice together every day" (5:04). This type of humor is family oriented and aimed at all ages. In Fuller House, there are jokes about Donald Trump and other “adult” topics. For example, Max (the DJ's second son) tells his mother not to worry and that he "knows all the bad words: fuck, booger and Donald Trump" (7:01). Granted, this could be seen as a funny statement to many people, but it could also be seen as extremely unnecessary for a TV show to get involved in politics. Therefore, funny family jokes turned into jokes about politics and real life.
