    In high school, I worked at a local jewelry store, learning skills in effective communication with customers, employers, and co-workers, as well as time management. Then I worked as a packer for a moving company; it required working long, grueling days, just like medical professionals. As a packer, I had to be efficient and organized. These skills have already served me well as a pharmacy technician. I also worked in different work-study jobs on campus, which requires flexibility and adaptation to different work environments. Right now, I work as a pharmacy technician at a Hy-Vee. I am quickly developing skills that will allow me to become a successful pharmacist. One of the most important observations I made is how each pharmacist interacts with each patient and the value of that interaction. Many of the patients we serve struggle with illnesses that impact their health, emotions, family, work, and many other aspects of their lives. I know that being a pharmacist is much more than just approving the sale of medications.
