Essay / My ideal career choice
My name is Vishnu Nair and I am currently in 9th grade at Harmony Science Academy in Houston. I am currently taking a PLTW introductory engineering course to see if engineering could be a future career path for me. I am very interested in computer engineering as well as computer science because I really have a passion and love for technology. Deciding which career to pursue is a very difficult decision to make because you may not know what you like. Everyone is afraid of putting in a lot of time and work to get a job they don't like. Therefore, your career choice is probably the most important decision of your adult life. Personally, I chose to pursue a career in technology because I have always loved technology and have been working in it since I was a child. For now, I've decided to study to become a computer scientist because I love coding things and finding ways to make things work properly while using technology. After completing the Clifton Strengths assignment, I discovered that my top 5 strengths were: Focus, Restoration, Strategy, Achievement, and Responsibility. My most dominant trait was focus, meaning I can take a direction or make a choice and follow it until I'm completely done with it. This can be very helpful as an IT professional because the job has many tasks and you need to focus entirely on one project at a time to get things done efficiently. My other strengths, such as restorative, strategic, and successful, may come in handy because these strengths make it easier for you to overcome challenges and problems. As an IT specialist, you are faced with many problems, these 3 assets are therefore crucial. Finally, my strength of responsibility will be useful to you because you will have to recognize your mistakes that you could make as a computer scientist. You must be able to accept blame and improve your skills. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on “Why Violent Video Games Should Not Be Banned”? Computer scientists perform many tasks such as exploring fundamental problems in computer science and developing theories and models to solve these problems. As a computer scientist, I would also invent new computing languages, tools, and methods to improve the way people work with computers. The median annual salary for an IT and IT professional is $118,370 and the most qualified can earn around $176,780. For the job outlook for becoming a computer and information scientist, the sector is growing rapidly and is expected to increase by 16% between 2018 and 2028, which is very high compared to other occupations. As people want better technologies, companies should hire more IT people, which can significantly increase my chances of being hired in the future. Additionally, getting a computer science degree is a safe bet because the entire IT industry is growing and since computer scientists are more in demand than ever. I currently reside in the Houston area where there are 22 annual job openings for a single computer and information researcher. This is a very high number and is expected to grow exponentiallythe future. The starting salary when you get the job is already $62,381. However, you can earn up to $203,198 in the Houston area if you are very talented. Daily tasks include designing computers and the software that runs them and participating in multidisciplinary projects in areas such as virtual reality, human-machine interaction or robotics. As a computer scientist, you need to know how to code certain things using Python, Java, or other programs. Additionally, in the Houston area, most computer and information researchers have some college education, either a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree. Additionally, this employment is increasing in the Houston area with 1,832 jobs created between October 2016 and today. According to the Texas Reality Check assessment, I would need an annual salary of $119,194 to live my lavish lifestyle. My future job would be a great fit, as the median computer and information scientist receives $129,000 in the Houston area, meaning I'll still have some money left over even after living a rather expensive lifestyle. The lifestyle I intend to live would be rather expensive than I would like: a luxury vehicle, a house, pets, 2 children, luxury clothing, leather furniture, dental care and adequate health care, going to the movies and always going on vacation with my friends and family. . It would be a very expensive lifestyle, but luckily my job will be able to pay for it. Additionally, with my estimated excess cash of $10,000, I would invest most of the money in stocks like Apple or Tesla because I know these companies will see continued growth. I would also donate $1,000 each year to my local charity to help give back and help the poor. If I still have excess money, I will spend money on a YouTube channel so I can inspire people and maybe become an influencer. My career as a computer and information researcher would not prefer me to live in a certain area because most of the work is done digitally via a computer. However, it might be useful because most major tech companies are based in California, which might make me move to Los Angeles. If I decided to move to Los Angeles, my cost of living would increase significantly because many things are much more expensive there. Food would cost 30% more, housing 160% more, transportation 30% more and health care 21% more. Housing would be the biggest factor, as housing in Los Angeles is 160% higher than in Houston, which would significantly increase my main expense! I would need to earn a salary of $200,147 to live in California as comfortably as I do in Houston, which I find rather absurd. However, the average salary in California is higher than that in Houston, which somewhat offsets the immense price increase. Another city I would consider living in is New York, as it is home to many very large tech companies. However, moving to New York would be very expensive. Groceries would cost 44% more, housing 283% more, utilities 7% more, transportation 11% more and finally health care which would cost 16% more! The most notable price increase would be for housing, as it is about 3 times that of Houston! Fortunately, New Yorkers are on average better paid than Houstonians, which may help them afford the immense amount of money required to live in Brooklyn compared to Houston. Live in.
