  • Essay / Dangers of Factory Work - 1011

Some people work in a factory and never think about the danger around them. They have worked in the same place for many years; the movement/movement of work becomes as natural as walking or talking. In most factories, accidents occur due to non-compliance with rules and regulations and ruckus. Some jobs within a factory can and will have special safety equipment and clothing that employees must use for their own safety and protection. There are jobs where an employee may need special training or certifications to perform the job. Desa International Heating was once a thriving workplace, manufacturing gas heaters, and there were many dangers inside. Some areas/departments were more dangerous than others with stricter rules and regulations; the painting department being the most dangerous of all. Certain company rules also applied to employees of the painting department, due to the type of work and the structure of work execution. We will discuss how the painting department works from start to finish and the dangers. First, the paint line is a huge chain-link belt suspended from the ceiling that has long metal rods with hooks on the end for hanging pieces. There are four workstations, two suspended and two unmounted. Suspension positions are extremely dangerous due to handling rough metal parts, which will cut you faster than a razor. People working at these two stations had to wear double-layered arm guards and special rubberized gloves to hang the parts. The arm guards were to help prevent cuts, the gloves were to help prevent cuts and keep the part from slipping because they were extremely oily and if they did the job correctly they worked. Employees were supposed... middle of paper... the cart over a person's foot and crushed the top of their foot. The injured person was never the same again and eventually had to turn to their disability because they could no longer stand for more than thirty minutes at a time. If the handler had just taken the time to come in front of the cart to let the person know that the cart is going to be moved, this would have been avoided. Finally, a factory is one of the most dangerous places to work. . There are rules and regulations for safety, and if they are not followed, someone will get hurt. If we don't use the Sometimes we hurt someone just because we are in a hurry or because we want to cause a ruckus. If we do not use safety equipment and clothing, we risk injury. So slow down, keep the heckling outside, and act like the responsible adults we're supposed to be..
