    SUMMARY Denver International Airport is experiencing innovative changes through various initiatives and policies. Since DIA is the largest airport in the country, it is essential that budgetary and project planning be addressed and redeveloped in an efficient and productive manner. As a Senior Management Consultant, I am responsible for evaluating the cost and service challenges associated with the construction and operation of the new airport in Denver, Colorado. Additionally, the comprehensive report provided will recommend solutions and strategies to address these cost and service issues. Information gathered indicated that the DIA needs options to reduce the loss of travelers and revenue for the Colorado Springs Airport. Additionally, an assessment of key components and considerations results in a cost-benefit analysis for the construction of the new airport. As outlined in this report, the DIA will follow five steps that constitute the formal cost-benefit analysis for improved quality construction and operation. Additionally, the DIA's assessment reveals that several components were overlooked, resulting in cost overruns of $3.2 billion. Recommendations include strategizing cost and service issues, building a one-mile airstrip and a 10-step project planning guide. All three recommendations provide adequate solutions that will reduce the loss of travelers and revenue to the Colorado Springs Airport.
