Not only did they strengthen my enthusiasm for internal medicine, but they also expanded my ability to effectively apply my learning over the years to two very different environments. My internship experience in several hospitals in the United States broadened my horizons and gave me the opportunity to further develop myself professionally and personally. A well-developed healthcare system, research opportunities, integration of evidence-based medicine into patient management, high standards of care, and exceptional mentorship make the United States an attractive place for someone like me to strives to achieve excellence. These experiences have made me a more well-rounded clinician for my level thus far, ready to continue my medical training in one of the best healthcare systems in the world, bringing with it a fund of knowledge from the perspective of a developing countries.
