Causes and Effects of Technology Every era is controlled by a force majeure, or progress. In this generation, it was technology. From the outside, the logic is that technology will illuminate the future. But in recent years, technology has begun to cast a dim light on the brains of American students. There have been many inventions; computer, e-mail, television, satellite television and many more. Today, these inventions have radically changed the world in various ways. Technology plays a role in various areas of modern life, such as business sales, communication, transportation and education. Above all, education has been greatly affected by technology; use the calculator to solve math problems,For example, when there was no calculator in subjects such as trigonometry and calculus, students had to do it the old way. They had to write out the problem completely and come up with the final product themselves. This method has improved the mind of a student more than the current technological era. This allowed students to develop a deeper understanding of the problems and how to find a solution. Author Nicholas Carr expresses his opinion in his essay “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” » in which he questions the effect of the Internet on the ability to process information. Carr says: “It used to be easy to immerse myself in a book or a long article. My mind would be absorbed by the story or the turns of the argument, and I would spend hours going through long extracts of prose. This is rarely the case today” (Carr 394). The essay presents the negative aspects related to the use of technology in the educational and everyday world. This implies that gradually, overuse of technology will leave an everlasting effect on the mind. Students will become too accustomed to searching the web for answers, leaving their minds empty and
