IntroductionWhen an ever-changing society evolves at such a rapid pace, it becomes rather difficult for companies like Federal Express, United Parcel Service, and United States Postal Service to meet the high demand. To meet such high volume and speed demand, Amazon recently introduced a new delivery method for its Prime Members, drone delivery. These delivery drones introduce a 21st century version of the 20th century delivery method, they bring a wide variety of speed and efficiency into the vast scale of the delivery system, but like most pieces of technology, they also introduce defects. Some of the major flaws that could be brought up would have to be ease of hacking, security concerns, and weight limitations. Although there may be major flaws, drone delivery still has major advantages, such as large volume delivery, speed and accuracy of delivery, and the ability to eliminate fuel consumption of delivery fleets. The benefits of using drones in a mass market. When thinking about technological advancement involving drones, we generally wonder about the military aspect of surveillance and weaponization of drones. This is not the case with Amazon drones and the technology they bring. In the previous five months, Amazon unveiled a new delivery method for its Prime Members. This method involves the use of GPS-controlled drones that have the ability to deliver packages and lightweight items to the customer's home within 30 minutes (Mayerowitz, 2013).
