In the short story “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings”, there are three main characters; The Old Man, Pelayo and Elisenda. During a rainstorm, Pelayo notices an old homeless man who had huge wings. Pelayo and his wife Elisenda decided that the old man was an angel who was planning to take their newborn son to heaven because he was sick. After going to her neighbor's house, she told Pelayo that she thought the Old Man was an angle, but was very suspicious. So she told Pelayo to kill the homeless man, Pelayo decided not to because her son was getting better. Pelayo being the good guy in the relationship convinces Elisenda to make sure the angel stays in the henhouse. Although a chicken coop is not a good living space, it is better than living on the street and being dead. By then, people were starting to visit the chicken coop. The local priest, Father Gonzaga, even visits them. Father Gonzaga declares that Man cannot be an angel because he does not speak Latin. Even though Father Gonzaga told the people that this Man was not an angel, the crowd continued to grow. Elisenda already thinks the Old Man is a nuisance and she notices the number of people visiting the Old Man is increasing, so she starts charging. admission of people. Although the numbers are overwhelming, the Old Man ignores them. People started pulling the feathers off his wings. However, when the news of the Spider-Woman was heard, these same people grew tired of the Old Man and went to see the Spider-Woman. Pelayo and Elisenda became rich from admission fees. Pelayo quit his job and built a new, bigger house. The old man then lived with the family for several years. Of course, Pelayo and Elisenda think that the old man will eventually die... middle of paper ... it's like religion, magical realism, being abnormal, and forgiveness tells us that this story is for adults. .
