As an entity grows in size and revenue, the information system needed to support it must also grow. Some companies may not have enough resources to accommodate this expansion. Perhaps their building is too small or they can't afford the equipment. When this is the case, an organization will choose to migrate its network infrastructure to a cloud computing environment. Cloud computing allows a business to implement a large-scale network without having to incur expenses to modify the building infrastructure. Cloud computing can offer three services: infrastructure as a service (IaaS), software as a service (SaaS), and platform as a service (PaaS). A company's expansion needs determine the services it requires. However, most organizations are opting for IaaS. When this happens, businesses move their data to the cloud. They do not know how their information is protected and confidential. All their operations depend on cloud operations. Cloud computing should not be considered as a significant option for data storage and network infrastructure solutions due to obvious security concerns. What is cloud computing? The goal of cloud computing is to offer software as a service. In cloud technology, software is not installed locally on machines but managed externally by a third party. Use of the application must be via a network connection or the software must be installed on a local computer and accessible elsewhere.
