    Reflection on Areas of CompetencyThis reflection is composed of retained evidence from the following courses that tested my ability to apply the knowledge I have accumulated during my undergraduate career. The training I received from the University of Cincinnati allowed me to use all five core skills. Knowledge Integration 1) Life Cycle Nutrition – Exam #2: I have demonstrated mastery of topics ranging from medical symptoms and health implications of metabolism. syndrome, to the differences between water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins, a topic I felt comfortable with thanks to my biochemistry survey course. I was also able to draw on the knowledge I accumulated in my introductory psychology course to define and evaluate Munchausen syndrome.2) Public speaking – The caffeine effect: I gave a speech on the effects of caffeine on the body. using the notion of improvised speaking learned in class. However, the content of my speech was based on the psychoactive properties of caffeine that I learned about in general organic biochemistry. I also talked about the popularity of caffeine addiction in America, which I discovered in Medical Nutrition Therapy II. This speech resonated very well with my student audience. 3) Nutrition Research Methods – I had to locate, interpret and evaluate an original research paper that was published in a peer-reviewed journal. I learned how to use Community Nutrition's PubMed to locate an original research article, and I already knew the strengths and weaknesses of implementing Nutritio's semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (FFQ). ...... middle of article. .....also observing physiotherapists at work with patients. I learned a lot about the versatility of Parkinson's disease and became very involved in the innovative rehabilitation techniques used by the clinic. Strengths and Areas for Improvement: I consider myself an open-minded and empathetic person who goes above and beyond in educating others in a way that is neither humiliating nor overwhelming. I would consider my ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a team to achieve a common goal. I also developed the ability to effectively locate and integrate resources when planning presentations and conducting research for reports. However, I often found myself overloading myself with too many responsibilities. I consider occasionally overloading myself to be a weakness in planning and critical thinking..
