  • Essay / Does school have to be so serious? - 666

In the process of creating my own high school, I would observe how students learn. From my personal experience of attending a normal public school, I know that sitting in a classroom all day did nothing. This kept me from being interested and not wanting to learn. Some students like this setting. Personally, no. In my school, I would create an environment where students could choose the learning techniques they prefer. I would make it a fun environment for students to learn while making sure they stay on track. My school is called Vamp High School, I chose the name because I thought it sounded energetic. It is a small school of around 300 students. I chose to have few students so that the teaching team could be more involved with their students. What's really great about Vamp is that the colors of the building are wild. I made the building in all neon colors to show the excitement and fun I want to incorporate into the learning theme. At my school, we're going to have the normal classes that you have to take to get your high school diploma. A unique way of learning at my school is that students can choose how they want to learn because not all individuals are the same. Students will be able to choose between lectures, practical, solitary or social courses. I feel that by letting students choose how they want to learn, they will stay interested in what they are learning. My students wouldn't have homework because some students might just copy from each other, which doesn't help that person at all. I would expect students to study alone at home. Therefore, I would ask teachers to assign them a worksheet once a week in class containing the information they discussed that week. And regardless of the middle of the paper, I think their own pace will help in the long run. As I said above, students in normal high schools, if they get in trouble, are punished or punished in any way and move on. I think this kind of discipline does nothing for the student and doesn't solve the problem at all. If I could choose, I would definitely go to the school I created. I feel that by choosing how you want to learn, you will learn more effectively. If students can have a personal connection with their professors, they can turn to them in times of need or desperation. Rather than getting in trouble, reach out to your professor to talk to them more as a mentor or someone you can get advice from. Overall, I think schools need to start paying attention to the needs of their students, beyond just making sure they pass exams. By guiding students in the right direction, they will become successful lifelong learners..
