“Vaccinations are causing a significant increase in childhood illnesses, adult illnesses and even life-threatening conditions such as Gulf War syndrome and Lou Gehrig's disease » (Blaylock). Every once in a while, a person's doctor calls to tell them which latest vaccine they should get. The person immediately schedules a time to come and do it. But do they even think twice? Did they ever think that maybe they didn't need another vaccine? Many people have not taken the time to seriously think about the vaccination process. The truth is that there are many dangers that the average person should not be aware of. It is rare that vaccines actually do what the public is told. In fact, many vaccines contain harmful substances associated with disorders such as autism. Lack of education and dishonesty among doctors put people at risk of health problems without even realizing it. Many parents feel obligated to vaccinate their children because of school, without knowing that they have the option to refuse vaccination. For the longest time, people assumed that if they got vaccinated, they would be completely safe from this disease. However, “a vaccinated person has no guarantee that they will not contract the disease and, if they do, it will probably be at a later age, when the consequences will be much more serious” (Hamdan). Vaccines don't always do what they claim. If people realized that getting vaccinated does not guarantee they are immune to a particular disease, it would be a major step in advancing vaccine education. Ultimately, the main issue should be protecting people from diseases in the best possible way, whether with or without the help of vaccines.
