They view this as an opportunity to improve and explore and experience new things live. Nearly 68% of the 20 respondents mentioned many positive impacts of Westernization and 32% of the 20 respondents said that Westernization is deteriorating Bhutanese culture and even felt that the aesthetic value is decreasing. 3.7 Problems faced by the Bhutanese society due to westernization There are many other problems faced through westernization and among which, the fear of losing the independence of the country is considered the highest during the survey. 60% of people voted for this question. The second most important problem is forgetting our own culture, with 24% of those surveyed. The rest is found in others which represent 16% of the population. It is said that most of today's students find it difficult to read a text in Dzongkha.
