Essay / Illegal immigration infestation in the United States
This year in the United States, thousands of illegal undocumented immigrants have entered the United States. “The argument against undocumented immigration is that local, state, and federal governments face increased costs due to their use of educational and social systems such as primary and secondary education, health care programs , emergency rooms, welfare and other anti-poverty programs. to which they do not contribute through taxes (Beccera). Financially strapped social service funds are spent on illegal immigrants, overcrowded schools are filled with undocumented children, and illegal immigrants fill the majority of low-wage jobs. Something needs to be done to address these problems in Texas. Billions of taxpayer dollars, my tax dollars that I work fifty hours a week for, are spent on the same illegal immigrants I work fifty hours a week to apprehend and deter from entering. the United States. If Texas wants to waste taxpayer dollars, it needs to waste it on programs that benefit those who pay taxes. SNAP, WIC, and Medicaid are social services there to help those who need them. A great example of appropriate use of social services is a mother who loses her job and can no longer feed her family. WIC and SNAP can supplement a mother's income to purchase groceries to feed her family. Loss of health insurance can be supplemented by Medicaid. Social services are designed to be a temporary solution to get families back on their feet. Illegal immigrants settle in the United States and use social services as a means of living instead of working their way out of poverty. Texas needs to change this, and by change I mean Texas needs to develop some testicular courage and...... middle of paper ...... immigration. We don't care about the amount of revenue generated; we care about how illegal immigration destroys the lives of jobs. Without low-paying jobs, unskilled workers are unable to work, support their families and must collect unemployment. While revenue generated by illegal immigrants helps support federal, state and local government coffers. The overall costs associated with illegal immigrants and their negative impact on social services, education and unemployment are detrimental to our economy. If Texas does not take a stand against illegal immigration, illegal immigration will dry up the Texas economy.
