    SummaryThe first year of the business administration program sufficiently covers almost all of the skills outlined in the Conference Board of Canada's Employability Skills 2000+ document, at least as well as this can be done in a single year. Each skill is examined and shows how the program transfers knowledge of the skill to the student. One of the recurring elements concerns the main tasks that students must complete, the projects, rather than the teaching itself, which is what students learn the most from. I also noticed that more time is spent teaching students communication rather than any other skills outlined in the document. I would only make two recommendations: 1. In business computers or business communications, new web communication and collaboration applications should be taught. New forms of digital communication such as Twitter, blogs and RSS are becoming increasingly important for businesses wishing to communicate with their customers. Students will need to know how to use these systems correctly.2. There is no real learning outside the discipline, any option chosen in the first year must be part of the business administration program. There should be an option, or even a requirement, to take a course outside of the program.Employability Skills 2000+IntroductionThe business administration program at Grande Prairie Regional College teaches us many technical skills, but only in Are there more universal or general skills sought after? by each employer? Conclusion Just going to college in itself is helpful in learning all the skills because experience is more important than education in many cases. That being said, most of the skills in the Employability Skills 2000+ program are covered extensively in the Certificate in Business Administration program, at least to the extent possible in a single year of study. Emphasis is placed on foundational skills and more on the communication part of this skill set, as well as a desire to teach these skills through experience (homework) rather than teaching..
