Personal Review of Skill Development Personal Growth Before starting this internship, I always thought that I would wander around like a headless chicken in an office scenario and I had very little or less idea about the where I was going. my career. If we continue to worry about the little things, we risk losing focus on the big picture, and if we only worry about the bigger picture, we risk losing focus on the little things in life as well. So it is important to keep a balance between the two by working hard. If we continue to work hard, after a while the little pieces will fall into the right places to make the situation clearer. I've always had a gift for writing or just writing in general. I was confident in my own skills in these aspects and felt that this would be my calling later. One such incident that helped me understand this happened when I was preparing for the market research of Azista Karela Biscuits. When I had to do a taste test that I had planned to do on my own, my boss asked me to delegate the taste testrather than doing the whole process just by myself. At the time, I thought maybe he wouldn't trust me with the whole process and maybe that's why he asked me to delegate. But to my surprise, doing all the work and telling others what to do, rather than doing it myself, was more difficult. Like every person needed to be in sync and it was my job to make sure it stayed that way. With the help of others, I was able to achieve my goal in less time than I had previously been able to achieve. It's funny to think that the first productive thing I did for the company was make a box. Because what the experience pushed me to do was to think outside the box while keeping its existence in mind. The light box I made came from a personal experience at the university. During a class in the photography laboratory, I saw a model of a light box, which was supposed to be used by students majoring in photography. As I was told that the company, which had hired a professional photographer to take the product packaging photos, wanted to take the photos for the customer himself, I suggested the idea of the light box. . After getting the approval, I started working on it and finished making it with the help of my colleague and the internet. Part of its Taste Good segment, Azista wanted a healthier variation of the biscuits found in the market. At the time, the biscuit market in India alone was expected to reach around $7.25 billion by 2022. Azista, an emerging company from Hyderabad, had ventured into essentially healthier segments of the market consumer products. But with Karela Biscuits, which is made from bitter melon/gourd, has been a tough sell despite the uniqueness of the idea in terms of today's market. However, the market forCookies is not devoid of health-related variants, with many major brands already offering a separate segment for health enthusiasts and diabetics, separate from their usual segments. Aside from that, having Karela in your product has its own ups and downs, as I later learned. From Rainforest Communication's point of view, this was an interesting prospect, because without any specific time constraints, we had to develop a marketing plan. plan that would put Azista on the map first of Hyderabad and then later of the country. The direction that Azista gave us was that they wanted to check if they could market the product to the general public, as these cookies were already present in medical stores to be sold as diabetic friendly cookies, no sugar, no cholesterol nor trans fats. From my point of view, it was a great opportunity to work on and with a product that was just beginning its life. In this regard, I could see that it would greatly help me to understand in depth how a marketing campaign is planned from scratch. Although when I arrived I was given a completely different project, but unfortunately after some delays this project was put on hold indefinitely. So after a few weeks of working on this very first project where I was initiated, rather than rushed, I had the confidence to jump straight into another project where I could be of great help. Market Research I was ordered to do market research from the outset to know the current state of the market and the position of our product in these circumstances. Because the situation was more delicate than one can usually pretend, taking into account the Karela factor, known to the general public for its bitter taste. The fact is that Azista, with its Karela Biscuits brand, has not even managed to capture the niche market where people might actually prefer one Karela biscuit over others. With the agreement of the creative leads and the director of Rainforest, we decided to do a blind taste test to determine what the general public thought of the taste and other important aspects of the cookies. I was given the responsibility of orchestrating the entire taste test, based on which I prepared a questionnaire. Through this taste test, we were able to determine the target audience and target segment to which Karela biscuits belonged. When preparing the questionnaire, I had to ensure that not only all aspects regarding taste and first impressions were covered, but also determine the psychograph of potential customers, through which we can develop a relevant plan to counter the competition and thus attract more customers for the product. The questionnaire had “before the revelation” and “after the revelation” sections, through which I wanted to determine what impact the name “Karela” had on the participants specifically. In total, I passed the taste test on 118 different participants. ranging from different age groups, gender, with different classes of society also being kept in mind. One of the most important things I learned from this experience is that no matter how calculated or concrete your plan is, there will always be unforeseen situations that cannot be controlled. The test result took different turns for each participant, but in the end, the overall picture was clear about our product. Being there, I noticed that what most of the participants told me and what they wrote on the paper in response was somewhat different.
