Over the years, young children, from birth to age 6, develop in many ways. However, there are ways that children may have difficulty developing. Some people believe that television can affect children, while others differ. Psychologically, there are stages that a child goes through in their physical and mental learning. Child development is a growth in the child's body, mind, and actions. From the first year after birth, the infant begins to trust the adults around him and to rely on them for food, warmth and also comfort. Next come children aged one to three years. This is where they begin to learn to do things like go to the bathroom on their own, dress themselves, and eat independently. Today, between the ages of three and six, children begin to learn self-control and act in increasingly socially responsible ways.
