Conservation is a technical activity concerning historic buildings. This was a physical action to preserve the fabric and materials of historic buildings. This is a procedure to prevent decay and the action aims to extend the life of buildings. Although the meaning is easy to understand, conservation has always been considered renovation. Conservation is known as a process of monitoring or managing change. It also includes maintenance and may, depending on the circumstances, include preservation, adaptation, reconstruction and restoration (Zalina, 2005). According to the International Council on Monuments and Sites or ICOMOS (1987), conservation is a process that leads to the continued life of a cultural property. property and for its current and future use. It is also about recalling a sense of the past and retaining, as much as possible, the original condition or situation of the obtainable fabric. In addition, it is also about supporting the preservation of historical buildings that constitute the memory of humanity.
