“Animals have no voice. They can't ask for help. They cannot ask for freedom. They cannot ask for protection. Humanity must be their voice. This quote from AD Williams says it all about the cruelty of animal abuse. Have you ever thought about animal abuse? It's not just about dogs or cats in a shelter, but a larger community. Before we stop abuse, we need to think about why it happens. Hoarding isn't just a TV show about stuff in your house. There are animal collectors. Do you have a pet at home? Does this ever frustrate you? Are you a responsible pet owner? What makes a person like Michael Vick get involved in something like a dog fighting ring? You never thought a professional football player would get in trouble for animal abuse, would you? Don't forget about people who have psychological problems and are physically cruel to animals. Animal abuse is cruel, to stop it we need to educate people about their animals before they become pet owners. Animal abuse hurts animals and it is wrong. It hurts physically and mentally. Abusing anyone is cruel and also illegal. It hurts them and sometimes for no reason. Why even bother getting a pet if you're going to be mean to it? Is this bad for you? Many dogs in shelters have been mistreated. 98% of animals placed in shelters die. Statistics indicate that ⅓ of dogs placed in shelters are pit bulls. So can we just take care of them instead of letting them die in shelters? We should not take our anger out on anyone, especially something that cannot speak. Even if we are having a bad day, why animals? People do things to their animals that I can't even imagine. They stab them, shoot them, kill them, starve them, burn them and chain them. Sometimes people do this because their animals don't... middle of paper ... your pet, you can look at that and find a good, non-cruel way to handle the situation. Animal cruelty doesn't matter. This will happen if you understand the responsibility of owning a pet before purchasing it. One of the reasons animals are mistreated is because they do not understand the responsibilities of being a pet owner and take out their frustration on the animal. Others, like Michael Vick, did it for the money. Some people hoard animals and don't understand what they are doing. If you have a pet at home, consider watching them suffer. How would you feel?
