    Although younger people who watch sports channels with an adult or a parent notice the alcohol advertisements displayed during intermission, which makes children want to consume the product because of the ad. Parental drinking is presented to the younger generation as a happy drink or a successful person's drink. However, alcohol is never seen in a negative light, but alcohol harms the brain development of young people. On some channels, celebrities smoke and demonstrate it as if it were a very soothing, but not harmful, substance that enters the body. “Children who watch more television start smoking earlier” (Boyse, 2010). Smoking influences children at an earlier stage in their lives, when they watch channels where adolescents discover cigarettes for the first time. Additionally, television leads to serious weight problems, causing children to become overweight and others to be obese. This is because there is no physical activity while watching TV. TV commercials help children gain weight due to food cravings that occur. Either children watch advertisements and crave fast food or a sugary drink, while others become greedy and demanding for the toys on display. Television is therefore the main cause of sleep and vision problems.
