  • Essay / The pros and cons of texting while driving - 1169

The campaign behind "Don't Text and Drive" is here to educate people about the dangers of doing such a thing in order to reduce the number of death. Every year on the news we see a young person killed or paralyzed for the rest of their life because of a stupid mistake in thinking that the text is more important. They have to live the rest of their lives thinking "what if" I hadn't decided to respond to that text message, what could my life be like now. The texting ban not only applies to teenagers but also to grown adults who know better. People's children learn driving habits from their parents, so it's more than likely that if they text, they will, it's called the domino effect. If people are not informed of the risks and do not use common sense before answering a cell phone, the number of cell phone incidents will increase. So it's very important that people know that the victims are not just teenagers because it happens to everyone, it doesn't matter if you've been driving for 6 months or 30 years, it can still happen.
