One piece of art that really caught my eye in this museum is the one titled Annunciation by Benedetto Gennari II, 1686. It is a beautiful oil painting done by the Italian painter during the Baroque period. According to the Ringling Museum, "The Annunciation represents the announcement by the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive and give birth to the Son of God, who would be named 'Jesus' (Luke 1:25-38)." Much like many paintings from the Baroque period, this painting is characterized by exaggerated movement, exuberance and clear details which were used to create a dramatic effect on the viewer. Overall it was an amazing experience and I definitely hope to go back soon.
