  • Essay / Social Class Conflict Theory - 850

Conflict theory is defined as the social collision between two different groups who are trying to accomplish the same task but have some sort of inequality within them. Examples of conflict theory are featured in popular television shows and movies and incorporated into the way of life of ordinary people. The three examples that will be used are the children's show "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody", the joint television series "Revenge" and a popular YouTube video "Wealth Inequality in America". There are many examples of conflict. theory within social classes. One of which exists in a children's TV show "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody". They live at the “Tipton Hotel” which in real life is equivalent to the Hilton or any other extremely nice hotel. Basically, there are mostly the richest 20% who live in this hotel, then there is a family, a mother and her twins named Zack and Cody. They were not in the poorest 20%, but they were very close to it. The school and everything was right next to the hotel and everything was provided for them except for the upper grades. For example, whenever London got exactly what she wanted, she always said "Yay Me"! This happened multiple times in each show as the twins were constantly blamed for their mistakes and scolded for the things they did wrong. Additionally, London is a spoiled, uneducated teenager who struggles to speak every day, gets good grades because she is treated differently by teachers, and also has money to pay someone to do it. help. While Zack and Cody struggle a lot with their grades. They struggle to focus and stay on track with their schoolwork because they have so many distractions... in the middle of a paper... are just some of the many ways inequalities between social backgrounds lessons are demonstrated. You can just walk the streets of any major city and find out who is in each class and whether or not they will team up. This is worrying because we, the Americans who are supposed to be united and united for equality, are among the most unequal individuals in the world. Conflict theory goes hand in hand with the different classes and they have many problems between the two groups caused by the stigmas and higher levels of power that the upper class has since they own the majority of the nation's income.
