Essay / A comparison between Plato and Meno - 1214
The Peloponnesian War shows how the Greeks favored success rather than compassion through rioting, land grabbing, and general fighting. Everything from the beginning of the war to what was abandoned shows that the Greeks had only power and superiority in mind. A normal conversation between Socrates and Meno also showed great support for the accomplishment. Virtue, instead of general goodness, is materialistic and greedy in the eyes of many Greeks. Although the Greeks treasured compassion, they placed much more emphasis on compassion.
