  • Essay / Fighting a losing battle - 906

With our planet facing a global warming crisis, we cannot continue to create and use energy in the same way as we have in the past. New strategies are being developed regarding how we can produce electricity in a more environmentally friendly way, as we focus on the problem of the increasing rate of greenhouse gases emitted into our environment. This mission will discuss the negative impacts that hydropower could have in the future on electricity generation as opposed to the use of nuclear energy. Additionally, the Chernobyl and Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disasters will be discussed with the aim of drawing a conclusion about the risks versus benefits of using nuclear energy. The hydropower industry is associated with water management as well as renewable energy, with around a fifth of the Chernobyl and Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disasters. global electricity production from the use of hydroelectricity; however, there are also several harmful effects. The amount of precipitation an area receives will pose a challenge for hydropower due to climate change. In order to manage these changes and build hydroelectric power plants, long-term preparation will be necessary and immense capital will be required (KayGusuz, K., 2009). In many cases, neighborhoods may need to be completely restructured, which could involve relocation. the population. Disease-transmitting organisms can cause waterborne illness and for this reason, water conditions should be tested. There may be a risk that methylmercury could be released and presented to a number of living things, which could produce changes in the aquatic habitat. That is why all types of animals and people living in water should be observed (Kaygusuz, K., 2009). . The fact remains that Chernobyl's nuclear power melted...... middle of paper......wealth as opposed to the use of nuclear energy. Additionally, the Chernobyl and Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disasters were discussed with the aim of drawing a conclusion regarding the risks and benefits of using nuclear energy.
