Essay / Interpretation Adam and Eve - 1149
Three major books have been studied on the interpretations of Adam and Eve and some others. In the Bible it is said that Adam was created from the dust of the earth, while in the Talmud Adam was created from mud, and in the Quran it is said that Adam was created from the earth. The Jewish interpretation of Adam and Eve is similar to both the Christian version and the Islamic view. Jews do not believe in original sin like Christians. They believe that everyone is born with a clean slate, as Muslims do. Christians believe that everyone is born corrupt. Some Jews also believe that Eve was not the first woman and that Lilith was the first woman. These books, although similar, had major differences throughout the story of Adam and Eve. The Jews also believed in a different tradition of Adam and Eve. Jewish mythology had the idea that there was a woman before the day before. The first woman is named Lilith. They found this from chapters one and two of Genesis when it says, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God created he them; he created them male and female” (Genesis, 1:27, International Version) and the second account is when he says: “Then the LORD God made a woman of the rib which he had taken from the man, and he brought him to man” (Genesis, 2:22, International Version). So scholars began to wonder if man and woman were created together, while Eve was created, does that mean someone else was there? The Jews invented Lilith, they say Lilith left Adam because she refused to submit to Adam. When she left Adam, he felt alone. God saw that Adam was alone, so he put Adam into a deep sleep and took one of his ribs to create Eve. Some say the first woman, named Lilith, was part demon. Christ... middle of paper ...... Allah with his infinite mercy forgave them both, which is different from the Christian teaching of original sin. .After some time, Allah sent Adam, his wife and his descendants to Earth. From then on, the descendants knew that being on earth is temporary and that the afterlife is their home, either heaven or hell. Now, on earth, Allah warned Adam and his descendants of the whispering Satan. In conclusion, the three stories are similar but have major differences. In the Jewish, Christian and Islamic religion, the eve comes out of Adam's rib during his sleep. Christians and Jews believe that Satan came in the form of a serpent and told Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, while the Islamic view relates that Satan whispered to the hearts of Adam and Eve, causing them to rethink question what Allah told them. They forgot what Allah's warning was and went to eat the fruit..
