  • Essay / Dangers of Peer Pressure - 789

Have you ever done something you didn't want to do, but somehow felt obligated to do it? Peer pressure is a daily problem that many people face. Ordinary people are forced to do drugs and drink alcohol and things they wouldn't do at other times. This is a powerful and dangerous thing called peer pressure and children, teenagers and even adults cannot escape it. There are many forms of peer pressure, such as drug use and alcohol abuse. People don't always become addicted to drugs voluntarily. Most of the time it happens accidentally and can ruin lives or even take lives. Steroids have become a widespread problem among athletes today, in high school locker rooms, in professional sports, and in some gyms. Most teenagers and even some adults desire respect from their peers, and when they discover that they can build massive muscles quickly, they find it hard not to jump at the chance, or even show interest. . They see other athletes and classmates building muscle and getting more attention from girls, making them more popular and even better at sports. The temptation then becomes real. Some bodybuilders take anabolic steroids to increase muscle mass and begin to become dependent on them. Bodybuilding is a growing sport and more and more people are taking steroids and other pills and powders to help build muscle. They read and see other steroid users such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Alex Rodriguez and most of the NFL. They constantly hear about middle of paper......they appreciate your ability to make your own choices, understand who you are as a unique and special individual, there is only one of you , introduce you to positive things like interests, music, and friends. Peer pressure can be difficult, but it can also be avoided. Peer pressure is the feeling of being influenced to do something you wouldn't usually do because your peers are doing it. It's all in your head and only you can stop it. Don’t fall for words like “come on, don’t be weak”, “you’re a chicken”, “you’re a baby!” Be strong and don't fall under peer pressure.
