    We cannot begin the debate on the gender pay gap without defining it. Simply put, the gender pay gap is the inequality between the salaries of men and women. The gender pay gap is an ongoing international problem, in which women are on average paid less than their male counterparts. As for whether the gender pay gap still exists, its accuracy varies depending on many factors such as employment status, country and region, gender and age. When it comes to gender, in some cases both men and women said the gap did not exist. Thanks to initiatives by various countries to reduce wage inequality between men and women in the labor market, the gap has narrowed, respectively, which may have contributed to forming such an opinion. However, it is completely implausible to claim that the gender pay gap does not exist anywhere in today's society. While the gap has narrowed in the world of work, in other countries the wage gap has widened or remained stagnant. One can't help but wonder why the gap remains consistent even with such substantial progress made in countries where the gap has narrowed. The reasons why the gender pay gap exists so strongly differ slightly from country to country, but the overall effect of the pay gap is quite evident. According to the European Commission, few plausible reasons why the gap persists are either traditions and stereotypes, direct "glass ceiling" discrimination and the undervaluing of women's work ("What are the causes?") .
