    Hamlet's DeceptionDeception is often used in politics and everyday life to gain power and success. The theme of deception is often repeated in Shakespeare's Hamlet. Hamlet's hesitation to kill Claudius and Hamlet's eventual death are a direct result of the court's deception. Hamlet tries to fool everyone into thinking he is crazy. He believes that with this "ancient disposition" he can kill Claudius without any consequences and avenge his father's death. When Cladius and Polonius hear about Hamlet's madness, they decide to find out the reason. They spy on Hamlet to understand why he acts this way. Through this, Cladius learns that Hamlet is dangerous and poses a threat to him. Hamlet's deception also results in the deaths of Ophelia and her father Polonius. As well as inciting Laertes to take revenge on Hamlet for causing the death of his family. After several attempts to kill Hamlet fail, Claudius teams up with Laertes and attempts to murder Hamlet once and for all. Each of these plans directly or indirectly causes Hamlet's death. After speaking to his father's ghost, Hamlet discovers that Claudius killed him to gain the throne of Denmark. Hamlet must take revenge by killing Claudius. To do this, he must act like a madman to keep suspicion away from himself. Hamlet says to Hortaio "As I behave strangely or strangely, for perhaps I will think it expedient to put an ancient disposition on it", (I; v; 170-172), this indicates that from this moment, Hamlet will act like a madman. .
